What does a 55-72 mm adapter mean, please help!?

Okay so I'm new so this photography thing.
I have a Canon EOS 50D.
I recently bought a fisheye > http://www.amazon.com/Opteka-0-20X-Profe ssional-Fisheye-Digital/dp/B001K5R38Q
And when I got it, it didn't.

it means your first lens (the one attached to your camera), with a diameter of 55mm, "steps-up" to a 72mm attachment lens.

So you purchased a professional level camera and have not even taken the time to read a book about DSLR photography that covers this? Why would you even put that piece of junk lens on a 50D anyway? The photos will be horrible.

The one that fits the filter thread on the lens you have on the body. I really don't think you can go from 52mm up to 72mm. You have to buy a screw on fisheye that is 72mm.
